About Tess.

Tess Benser (they/them/theirs) is a trauma informed well-being, social justice, and sexuality educator. They recently relocated to Albany Park from Philadelphia. Tess holds a Master’s degree in Women & Gender Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where their research focused on portrayals of sexual and relationship violence in media specifically targeted toward teens and young adults.

Tess has fifteen years of work experience creating & delivering trainings on topics including trauma, secondary trauma, community care, and preventing burnout; preventing and responding to sexual and relationship violence and harm; HIV, STI, and Hep C prevention; harm reduction & opioid overdose reversal; comprehensive sexuality education; trauma informed approaches for working with LGBTQIA+ populations; and intersectional gender and racial justice work. Tess is originally from Wisconsin, and yes, they love cheese.
